YORÙBÁ PROVERB – PEACOCK

 

 

Yorùbá:  Adé ori ọ̀kín kò si f’ẹ́yẹkẹ́yẹ.

 

English:  The crown on peacock is not meant for just any bird.

 

Usage:  It is used to explain the fact that the honour bestowed on a merited person is not for Tom, Dick, and Harry.
